The Wrong Boyfriends – Dream drowned, demented, gravedigging ghouls The Wrong Boyfriends awake from a sleep of a thousand years, starved, half-mad and desperate for deathrock. Stand perfectly still, lest a torch beam pick you out for the last waltz. / The Universal Thee – Universal Thee are an Edinburgh based Indie-Slacker-Rock band. In January 2014 they released their debut single ‘Aranis Natas’ which Jim Gellatly described as ‘simply great’. They followed this up with the release of their debut album ‘Back to Earth’ in March 2014 to widespread critical acclaim. Album track ‘Million Voices’ was named in The Skinny’s March playlist and influential worldwide music blog Emerging Indie Bands named them ‘the 17th best emerging indie band in the world’. The Sunday Herald described their sound as “…starry-eyed Pixies-meets-Pavement skew-whiff dynamics…” and declared that they had created a debut album “…which threatens to explode…” Further positive press coverage continued with features in Fame Magazine, State Magazine and The Daily Record amongst a plethora of positive reviews from various other outlets. With The Daily Record declaring “The debut album from the Edinburgh five-piece jingles and jangles in all the right places. Opening track Bone Collector bounces about with BMX Bandit abandon, while Wolves sounds like a nursery rhyme with bite. A highlight is Aranis Natas, which conjures up the psychedelic freak pop of Clinic. / Lt:BK -Super-charged, fuzz-powered punk rock, served with a side order of whimsy and a healthy dose of the ridiculous; returning after a 14 year hiatus to deafen and delight in equal measure.
