The Scottish Poetry Slam Championships, OranMor, Sunday 16th March
The Scottish Poetry Slam Championships
Slam Poetry is the wild child of literature. A live competition between poets of all styles – rhymers and rappers, ranters and ravers. Tonight everybody who has won a Poetry Slam this year goes head to head for the title of Scottish Champion. It’s an intense event, poets taking the mic for two minute bursts of fun, fury and – on occasion – filth! Competing are poets from Cumnock, Ballymena, Oldham, Washington DC, Maryhill, St Albans, St Andrews and Texas. And as well as grabbing the glory the winner goes to Paris to take part in The World Series. Robin Cairns comperes.
This event is brought to you by The Comedy Festival
