A Night of Dolly Parton Songs
Having had a summer break, With The Hellfire Club returns to the Griffin on Saturday 30 August (8.30). In continuing our review of great American singer song-writers we go back to our country roots with a night packed full of Dolly Parton songs. And boy do we have a line-up for you!!
First off, fresh from a run at the Edinburgh Fringe, we are delighted to be joined by Three Weeks Editors’ Award winner 2012 Scottish singer/songwriter and fiddler Elsa Jean McTaggart, along with her sister Miss Irenie Rose (nominee for best newcomer in the Scottish Alternative Music Awards). They have had some great reviews:
‘A beautiful votive and highly accomplished fiddling. This was a lovely show’ ***** (One4Review.com).
‘Alternating between traditional folk instruments, McTaggart ignites the room with her awe-inspiring mastery and passion for music of all genres’ (ThreeWeeks).
Irenie has played at many festivals including Celtic Connections and has supported many great artists with her truly amazing original songs. Check them both out at: www.missirenierose.com and www.elsa-jean-mctaggart.com.
If that alone wasn’t enough, we are also very excited by the fact that The Flying Fajita Brothers are going to perform a short set. Specially formed for the Dolly Party event, The Flying Fajita Brothers comprise of Matt (Citizen Bravo/Zoey Van Goey) and Malcolm (Withered Hand/eagleowl). They are planning some special versions of Dolly songs alongside a couple of their own compositions.
Even though this is a fantastic line-up we are not changing the entry price, and so it is still only £3. So come early to ensure a seat and to catch all the fantastic talent on offer (oh, and The Hellfire Club playing a few songs too).
Hope to see you all there.
