Rowan Sinclair, undergraduate Geography student – dissertation research

‘Hello, My name is Rowan Sinclair and I am a fourth year undergraduate student of Geography at the University of Glasgow. For my dissertation I am conducting research into the political and economic aspects of university and city relations, as I would like to assess the relationship between the University of Glasgow and development in the West End. The focal topic of my investigation into this relationship will be the proposed expansion of the University and what impacts this will have on the interactions between the University and the surrounding urban area. The services that are being provided, local business owners and local residents are the type of areas that I am interested in researching.I have created a quick and simple questionnaire as the starting point of my research, which aims to gather general information on the opinions the residents and business owners in the West End have about the plans for the University expansion.
