At the turn of the century, British women suffered at the hands of the patriarchy – forbidden the right to vote and basic equality. This film tells the story of the select few who stood up to the social norm, working women who radicalised the status quo and saw violence as the only route to change – willing to sacrifice everything for what they believed in. This is an important and compelling story, told by a female writer (Abi Morgan) and director (Sarah Gavron), and with an all-star female cast
