John Montgomery with Ciaran on the Sunday Session

5 p.m. - 7 p.m. - 23rd September, 2012

On the Ciaran Dorris Sunday Session this week will be St. Andrews-based singer-songwriter John Montgomery who recently released his debut solo album ?Walking Home?.

John was born in London but brought up in the little seaside town of Kinghorn on the Fife coast. He trained at the Royal Scottish Academy in Glasgow and also did a piano Diploma at Napier College Edinburgh, before teaching in an East Lothian Secondary school as Head of Music.

Alongside his busy teaching schedules John has always retained a strong commitment to writing and producing and mounted three productions in Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in the nineties ?his musicals Deacon Brodie and Once Upon a Castle were performed by Edinburgh Youth Theatre and Preston Lodge-and there have been many school productions across Scotland since.

Lisa McHugh on Stewart Fenwick Country

On Stewart Fenwick's Celtic Country this Sunday 23rd at 12 noon will be Glasgwegian singer Lisa McHugh calling from Donegal.

Lisa is the Irish 'Sunday World' Female Vocalist of the Year 2012 and she will be making a trip to Glasgow next week.

Lisa plays The Redhurst Hotel, 27 Eastwoodmains Road, Giffnock, Glasgow G46 6QE on Saturday 29 September with doors open at 9.00pm with admission just £12 payable at door.

The talented newcomer was born in Scotland and has moved to Donegal. Lisa has strong Irish connections as her mother is from Felcarragh, Co Donegal and her father is a native of Castlederg, Co Tyrone.

Lisa will be telling Stewart what she has been up to including the release of her new CD 'Dreams Come to Life' and single 'In the glow of the light'. Stewart Fenwick Country, Sunday 23 September 12noon-2.00pm.

'Medicine Man' Rob Ellen on Sunday evening live!

Rob Ellen, Sunday 23 September 7.00-9.00pm.

Rob Ellen, publicist, presenter and promoter takes over the Mary K. Burke Show this Sunday night when Mary is away giging.

Rob produces and presents 'The Medicine Show Health & Happiness Hour' online and which has been aired on Celtic Music Radio.

Dingwall based Rob will be in Glasgow on Sunday night with The David Latto Band live in studio 1 of Celtic Music Radio.

Celtic Music Radio & Fringe Americana presents The Moon Shiners, Jill Hepburn and Al Shields at Avant Garde, 34 King Street, Merchant City, Glasgow on Wednesday 26 September 2012 with a 8.00pm start

The event is free but ticketed with tickets available by email or from behind the bar at Lauries Bar, King Street at two tickets per person.

Glasgow's, nay Scotland's finest Bluegrass band have been thrilling audiences since 1989 with their energy and authenticity. It is testimony to there longevity on how good these guys and gals are.

Jill Hepburn
Jill was a 'bedroom songwriter' for many years before finally summoning up the courage to go along to an open mic in the famous The Halt Bar in Woodlands Road, Glasgow where the enthusiastic response to her songs encouraged her to write and play more.

Al Shields
Al Shields is an Edinburgh-based songwriter, who's influences are rooted in old-time country, folk and blues music. He released his fine debut album 'Slow Burner' in October 2011. He is originally from the Island of Bute where he grew up on a healthy diet of country and folk music from his mother's record collection.

Tom Hamilton presents 'Music from the Loft' and The Blues Hour on Tuesdays 10.00pm-12 midnight.

Glasgow Americana 2012 festival - Wednesday 3 - Sunday 7 October

Celtic Music Radio's Tom Hamilton and Bill Morris will be at many of the concert and session events to record for future transmission plus they will be providing reviews of the shows.
