Learn to swim at the Arlington

Photo: william young swim school. The Arlington Baths in Glasgow is delighted to announce the arrival of the William Young Swim School. The Swim School will take place at the Arlington every Friday afternoon, with group or individual lessons available to all.

Arlington Chairman Gordon McDougall said:

"'We are delighted to welcome William Young, a very experienced swimming instructor, to our Arlington family. People have been learning to swim at the Club for 140 years and the new Swim School will help us keep up that tradition.
"In addition, this new facility is available to both members, as well as individuals and groups of all ages from the local area, ensuring that the Arlington remains an integral link within our local community."

The William Young Swim School has built up an excellent reputation since it was established six years ago and provides lessons across various venues avross Glasgow and the West of Scotland.

William Young adds:

"Although I teach at many venues, I am absolutely delighted to have the opportunity to provide swimming instruction to people of all ages and stages at what is believed to be the world's oldest surviving swimming club."

Indeed, these are exciting times for the Arlington, with an number of events planned to mark its 140 year anniversary. In the run up to the 2014 Commonwealth Games, the Club remains a real asset to Glasgow, retaining the mantle of the country's founding Victorian Swimming Club.
