Cresswell Lane, G12

Delightful home accessories and furniture. There is a great display of lamps, china and ceramics. The Boabab Ceramics with their beautiful and unusually contrasting colours are wonderful and you will love the beaded boudoir lamps and the very simple, but striking, bedside lamps. There is lots of high class novelties and attractive trinkets which can translate into wonderful presents or quirky little gifts and wonderful furniture.

I like the Nono East-West style furniture. I was thinking to decorate my son’s room like that. I found in this collection some very modern single beds that would work perfectly for him. I think it will be hard to find the right mattress for it though.

I'll got direct with you and I will say that I am fascinated with interior design, I just love to build and create my own personal space. All these styles are just perfect, I have a lot to learn from you.

I visited a baby furniture store on GreatWestern Road, not too far from Botanical Gardens but can't find their business card. This style of baby furniture was so different - looked as though it came from an Alice in Wonderland book. Not too many parallel lines and beautiful colours. Anyway, it's on the same side of the street as the Bot. Grdns. Can anyone help me find the name please?

Christina, I'd be happy to have a chat with you or your student about your post as there are many different options in aiming for an interior design career, some of which are unlikely to be suitable for a disabled person, but it would depend on the nature of the disability and the interests of the prospective designer. The challenge for a disabled designer is that, whilst an employer can make provision for disabled access in the workplace, this wouldn't be possible out "on site", where he/she could be visiting anything from a private home to the building site of a new hospital. For example, I have a design business in the West End (The Landlord's Designer) where we design and furnish private homes for homeowners or property investors, so we are rarely office-based at all and have no control over access to the premises we work in. However, it's a broad industry with many types of "jobs" so there should be scope for working around a disability if the career is planned accordingly. As I said, I'd happily chat over the options if it's of any help. Career decisions are tough enough for young people to get right, no matter what their circumstances. Best regards, Connie

After visiting the West End of Glasgow last week, I was dissappointed to find you had no reference to Boxwood in your Website. I found this to be a wonderfull shop, the type I wish to find in Austria. When we visited Boxwood they had just taken over the Gallery and were busy, but still found the time to talk us and help us with our requests. The service was excellent, and the staff friendly, but the best thing about the shop was delivery service. Our order was waiting for us when we arrived home in Zams 2 days later!
