There's so much happening on Glasgow's Clydeside - luxury apartments are cropping up everywhere, seems we can expect waterbuses and a new bridge is being built across the Clyde.

There's also a very interesting new venture in Lancefield Street, where Julie and Joe Gallagher have opened their fabulous antiques warehouse - Glasgow Clydeside Antiques. Glaswegians, who enjoy the thrill of browsing for antiques, will be rubbing shoulders with the collectors and tourists - hell bent on finding something wonderful from times gone bye - or picking up a bargain.

Photo: ceramics. With 25000 square feet of space packed full with Antique and Reproduction Furniture, Paintings, Porcelain, Carpets, Clocks, Mirrors, Pianos, Fireplaces, Objects D'Art, Jewellery, Linens and 'a wide selection of the weird and wonderful' - the choice is overwhelming.

At present there are 35 different dealers and many of Glasgow's most respected businesses have already set up shop. Julie and Joe have their own wonderful selection including antique furniture, clocks, paintings and artefacts. Strachan Antiques have some lovely Art Nouveau. Have your jewellery repaired or updated at Vic and Lil's 'Jewellery Workshop. Tom Pearson has some amazing fire surrounds and many people will be pleased to see Sheila Murdoch back on the scene with her wonderful linens and antique jewellery.

There are also some interesting pieces at Marie Sinclair's Upstairs and Downstairs, Glasgow Architectural Salvage is well worth a look with everything from fireplaces to chimney pots - also some great stained glass. Another favourite of ours is Hannie's Antiques, where Hannie Van Riel and Jim Donnegan, sell their lovingly restored furniture and unique antiques. See full list of dealers:

Little wonder Scottish Television have been quick off the mark to source their props at Glasgow Clydeside Antiques - we enjoyed having a peep at what was waiting to be shipped off to add some atmosphere to the next episodes of 'Rebus' and 'Taggart'

You really need to see it for yourself - a great way to spend a day out and only ten minutes from the West End or City Centre. Quicker if you're coming on your boat. You can even pick up a plant or two on the way out from 'Blooming Plants', and at bargain prices and there's also a Snack Bar if you fancy a coffee or feel peckish.

Photo: woodbine.Folk are going to love it here. No hard sales and no disappointments as Julie and Joe ensure that sales can go ahead even when the dealer may not be available. It is an impressive place and really has something for everyone.
