Sheila Murdoch with 20 years of experience of buying and selling vintage clothing is a class act when it comes to retro. I first discovered Sheila in my first year at Glasgow University - as a poor student I was always on the look out for a bargain. She had a tiny wee shop 'Deja Vu' (not much bigger than a cupboard) under Hallibee's Restaurant in Ruthven Lane. Now Circa is one of Glasgow's main attractions for fans of vintage and retro.

Circa, is truly worth a visit - how Sheila manages to find such an array of finery is a mystery but she clearly has the knack. The vintage bags "1900 - 1980's" are wonderful - some of the beaded bags are exquisite. She also has a large range of fantastic costume jewellery perfect for accessorizing your festive party outfit. I bought a pair of silver and turquoise clip on earrings there a few weeks ago and I love them. I could quite easily be tempted to add to my collection with each visit as there are so many interesting, unusual and very reasonable items on display.

At the moment my favourites are the wonderful Chinese silk kimonos - so colourful and exotic. If you can't get one to fit you might even be tempted just to hang one on your wall! I also love the cashmeres - real bargains and all in lovely condition.There are also great evening dresses, classy 40's costumes and beautifully styled coats - guaranteed to be unique. Many are hand made and tailored to perfection.
