CULTURE 2014: PLAY SUMMIT
12 April 2014 to 14 April 2014
10.00-6.00.
Glasgow Green G1 5DP
Three days dedicated to all things play led by artist Nils Norman and art & architecture collective Assemble.
For families, there are three days of free outdoor play with Baltic Street Adventure Playground, which is moving to Glasgow Green for the duration of the summit. Join PEEK and Playbusters to play, build, enjoy a campfire and explore. This is an adventure where the children will lead the fun! The chances are that this will get messy so dress accordingly.
On SUNDAY there will be the following workshops in the Winter Gardens at People’s Palace:
11.00 – The Woodcraft Folk
2.00 – Model-making with the artis Nils Norman and Grant Lambie
4.00 – Tower Building with Assemble
If you’ve more of a professional interest in play and its importance in children’s development there are several talks, discussions and an all-day symposium where you can hear the latest about adventure play in the UK and beyond. See the link for more information
Play Summit is a collaboration between Collectives’ All Sided Games and Baltic Street Adventure Playground. Baltic Street Adventure Playground is a VELOCITY project delivered collaboratively by ASSEMBLE and Create London, and is funded by Creative Scotland, Clyde Gateway and Glasgow City Council.
Free but booking required for workshops and Symposium.
£30/£20 for Symposium
