Generation Art – Cathy Wilkes, The Tramway
The Tramway until 5th October, 2014
Cathy Wilkes makes installations, sculptures and paintings. She is best known for her imaginary environments which variously resemble interiors, uninhabited worlds and spaces of loss. Wilkes experiments with all kinds of materials, including paper, cloth and clay, collecting treasures and ingredients; which together have made a body of work spanning 25 years. In her exhibition for Tramway Wilkes continues with these themes, engaging with the fabric and industrial history of the gallery space.
