Tues 29 May - Fri 1 June 7.30pm £12(£9) Cottier Theatre, Hyndland Street. Ticketlink 287 5511 Mike Maran Productions presentCaptain Corelli's Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres |
Mike Maran brings his company to Glasgow's Cottier Theatre for four performances of his award-winning show based on the smash-hit novel by Louis de Bernieres (now a film as well!). The show has not only been a guaranteed sell-out at the Edinburgh Fringe and theatres all over the UK, it has also garnered excellent reviews.
'You find more vivid experience in this captivating adaptation than in several venues full of high-flown theatre. It's hard to imagine this show won't have a life which extends far beyond the end of this year's Edinburgh Festival'. |

Did You Used To Be R.D. Laing? |
The story of the Scottish pop-shrink, rebel, yogi, philosopher and healer. Told by Mike Maran with music by David Milligan. Glasgow-born Ronnie Laing rose spectacularly to fame in the 1960s, was more difficult to get hold of than Mick Jagger, denounced normality for being mad, opened safe houses where schizophrenics could voyage safely through their madness, retreated to India to meditate and disappeared with the 1970s. Mike Maran re-tells the life and work of R. D. Laing with a jazz score based on the music of Bill Evans, Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett and Chopin, arranged for piano and played live on stage by David Milligan.
'......another masterpiece of storytelling to follow the huge success of 'Captain Corelli'.....another touching triumph from Mike Maran' NB 'Captain Corelli' plays at 7.30pm 'R.D. Laing' at 9.30pm |
