Shine

Alyth McCormack, the voice at the leading edge of Gaelic song has joined forces with mistress of jazz harmony Corrina Hewat, and Mary Macmaster, emotion-bearer of the Scottish tradition, to form a fantastic new trio. Shine will uplift you with their challenging, breath-taking harmonies and rich rhythmic harps in beautiful arrangements of traditional and contemporary songs in Gaelic, Scots and English.

9pm for 9.15pm, Botanic Gardens, £6 (£3) in adv. from Gilmorehill. Tel. 330 5522.

Shakespeare in the Gardens. Pericles - Flexible Deadlock

Flexible Deadlock present their third and most ambitious Shakespeare in the Gardens promenade production, following on from the success of 'Love Labour's Lost' (1999) and 'Titus Andronicus' (2000). This time, we're taking the audience around the entire Mediterranean Sea, through 25 years in the life of a less-than-fortunate Middle-Eastern prince and his family, as they are shipwrecked, sold into slavery, etc.
Expect the unexpected, and wrap up well for cool Scottish summer nights!
