Offering a range of courses starting this Autumn

We have Cert H.E. (degree level 1 and 2) 20 credit and 40 credit courses in Writing Fiction, The Short Story and The Novel, as well as the more advanced Intermediate Techniques in Fiction Writing.

All the above are currently enrolling and start between September 24th and September 27th.

In the Open Programme (also currently enrolling) we have new classes beginning in early October. Pamela Ross is teaching a sequence of practical courses on novel writing over 3 terms: The Novel: Getting Started, The Novel: The First 50 Pages, The Novel: Redrafting and Editing.

Poet Donny O’Rourke is taking classes and appearing at day events on Poetry

We’re also running a series of one day events in topics such as writing effective dialogue and techniques for creating characters. We have tribute nights to writers such as Franz Kafka, Raymond Carver and Margaret Atwood, showcases of student writing, the launch of thi wurd anthology in November (featuring writing from Centre for Open Studies students) and a range of taster sessions.
