BIFA Presents the Netflix Original Film, Calibre, with special cast and crew Q&A.

Two lifelong friends head up to an isolated Scottish Highlands village for a weekend hunting trip. After a harrowing turn of events, they find their nerves and their morals ruthlessly tested, with their very survival placed at stake as the locals close in on the truth. Calibre is the taut, merciless and deeply affecting feature debut by major new writer-director Matt Palmer.

Followed by a Q&A with director Matt Palmer, producer Anna Griffin and members of the cast.

Anchored by a brace of range-flaunting performances from its two leads Jack Lowden and Martin McCann, Calibre evolves unexpectedly into a moral puzzle about the limits of friendship and forgiveness.

‘Matt Palmer’s first feature-length film builds on his award-winning catalogue of shorts and offers a mature step into the longer form. Some beautiful shots of the Highlands and some great long shots show the total isolation of being in the mountainous ranges of Scotland, giving the characters the perfect setting to lose their morals.’
