Bill Viola: The Road To St Paul’s, GFT

This film follows the husband and wife team of Bill Viola and Kira Perov on their twelve-year odyssey to create and install two permanent video installations, Mary and Martyrs (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) on either side of the High Altar in St Paul’s Cathedral. Made by the award-winning arts documentary director Gerald Fox, this film also looks back over Viola’s groundbreaking work over the last forty years, offering a deep insight into the creative process involved in the making of these complex, large-scale video installations as well as the nature of the pair’s working relationship

Followed by a Q&A with director Gerald Fox.
