BIG BOY BLOATER, Nice n Sleazy 21 March
Nice N Sleazy presents:
BIG BOY BLOATER
Nice n Sleazy 421 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow G2 3LG
Saturday 21 March @ Nice N Sleazy, Glasgow
When Jools Holland says you’re ‘one of the great Blues men of our time’, you’re personally invited by Imelda May to tour with her and Sir Paul McCartney invites you to record with him at Abbey Road you must be doing something right! Big Boy Bloater is the man in question and his unique brand of contemporary R&B is starting to make quite an impact! As well as touring all around Europe and the UK in 2014 and appearing at festivals Bloater was recently invited back to the Royal Albert Hall for a second time to appear at the prestigious BluesFest and is the host of Classic Rock’s sister magazine ‘The Blues Magazine’s national radio show.
But he’s not just a much-admired guitarist (with publications such as ‘Rock & Pop: The Complete History’ naming him in the ‘R&B guitar icons’ chapter, Mark Lamarr calling him ‘a phenomenal guitarist’ and self-funding a vinyl release, and the editor of The Blues Magazine calls him ‘the best R&B guitarist and vocalist in the UK’), he also just picked up a nomination for vocalist of the year in the UK Blues Awards 2014. Tonight he brings you his critically acclaimed full band ‘The Limits’ with their upbeat tempos, dark lyrics and virtuoso musicianship. This show is energetic, impressive and will leave you wanting more! The mainstream are starting to cotton on to what the BBB faithful and the music underworld have known for a while….
