Bastards, GFT

Claire Denis’ latest and darkest film was inspired by recent French sex ring scandals that exposed some of the country’s most wealthy and powerful men. After returning to Paris after a family tragedy, Marco moves into a huge apartment and furnishes it with nothing but a mattress. From here, he watches his neighbour Chiara, who guarantees the security of her child through her relationship with a man who wears a charming smile to conceal true evil.
